Aftercare,

The most important step in the whole tattoo process.

Aftercare

Bandage Healing

Keep the first piece on for as long as you can. 3-5 days is recommended, but taking it off sooner or later won’t harm your tattoo! you will see blood and plasma build up under the bandage. perfectly normal, thats just your body trying to heal the tattoo. If plasma starts to leak out of the bandage, you’ll want to change it out immediately to the second piece.

-How to change the bandage (if needed)

-take off the bandage, wash your hands, then the tattoo with an antibacterial hand soap like Dial.

- Let the tattoo completely air dry for about 10 minutes.

-peel the white backing off of the new bandage, stick onto your tattoo, make sure there is about at least 1/2 inch border around the tattoo, and flatten completely. peel off plastic backing.

Keep that second bandage on for about 5-7 days. you’ll be just find to shower, workout, work, etc. just no submerging, so no bathtubs, swimming pools, hots tubs, etc.

If you start to see redness or irritation around the edges of the bandage, take it off immediately.

After the 5-7 days, take off the bandage, wash your hands, then your tattoo. At this point, the tattoo should be almost completely healed, but youll still want to wash is 1-2 times a day for the next week and moisturizing when it feels dry.

The whole process should be about 2 weeks, 1 week of having the bandage on, and another of keeping it clean and moisturized.

Read below for my moisturizer recommendations.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a great way to heal your tattoo, it has anti-bacterial properties to it, and a little goes a long way!

Keep in mind, even though I recommend these moisturizers, doesn’t mean they’re going to work for you. These are just things I’ve seen a lot of success with. Everyone’s skin unique and needs different things. If you have an unscented moisturizer that you like, and works for you, go ahead and use that!
