The girl behind the Swirls

I always knew I was going to be an artist, Its cycled through many things, Art teacher, comic illustrator, painter, animator etc. tattooing was something I thought would be cool, but never anything I would actually do.

A few months before I graduated High School, I had applied and gotten accepted into a local university. And honestly, I had no idea what I was going to do, I think I had settled on Animation.

During the time before my graduation, my family and I went into a local tattoo studio to get some piercings. At the end of the transaction, It was the owner who helping us. Purely out of curiosity, I asked him how I go about going into the tattoo industry. He told me to bring a portfolio and we can go from there. I was so excited, I brought it in the next day. He offered me an apprenticeship for when I graduated high school, a few days after graduation, I was in a tattoo shop learning the process!

I apprenticed for about 6 months, even though it was a bit short, It got my foot in the door and I’m eternally grateful. I learned so much being there, I was offered a job at a shop called Aloha, thus far, I have worked there for the majority of my tattooing career. They taught me so much and helped my career along in such a lifechanging way.

I am currently working at Black Rabbit In Murray.

So far, I have experienced three other shops across Utah. I’ve learned so much from each one, and the spot I am now gives me the freedom to do the pieces I wanna do. I’ve always wanted to give people unique, special pieces that they can have for a lifetime.
